Creating a Template

Creating a template on the Brandlive Platform is very similar to creating a project. From the Projects dashboard, simply click the blue "Create" button and select "Project" from the dropdown menu. 

You will land on a page that will ask if you would like to create a project from a template or create a new Blank project. We will revisit this page at the end of our template breakdown. For now, click on "+ Blank Project":

Follow the steps to create a project as you normally would. If you need a refresher, check out this helpful guide. Creation is an important step - here is where you determine whether your template includes a landing page, has registration gating and if needed, what project group it will belong to. It is also where you will add your first session, as well as a cover image that will display on the Projects Dashboard:

Once you click "Continue," you will be taken to your project and will be able to customize it to your exact specifications. For more tips on customizing your project, see this article. When you are ready, click "Save as Template" at the top of the Sitebuilder toolbar.

A popup will display asking you to name your template, and optionally, add it to a project group or give it a helpful description. This is also where you can add a thumbnail to visually differentiate this template from others:

After clicking save, you will be redirected to the Projects dashboard. 

Using a Template to Create a New Project

Now that you have perfected your template, you can create a project using it as a structural or design basis. From the Projects dashboard, click the blue "Create" button in the upper lefthand corner once again, then select "Project" from the dropdown menu. You will be taken to the page that prompts you to either create a blank event or to create a project using an existing template. You should see the template you just created waiting to be used:

Click on your template. The Platform will then invite you to create your new project, including giving it a new name and allowing you to edit any sessions directly from this first step: 

Once you click "Create," you'll arrive at your templated project! From here, you can customize as needed, or just click "Publish" and go!

Deleting a Template

If you need to delete a template, navigate to the "Content" tab in the top navigation of the Projects dashboard.

Then click "Templates" from the inner left-hand navigation. Check the box in the upper left corner of the template you would like to delete and then click the "Delete" button in the upper righthand corner of the page:
